Hysteria of existence  perhaps we have
no end,  the sphere simply changes.
Change is hard.  Change is something
I can't explain right now, or maybe ever.
If you knew it, it probably wouldn't be
called change, now would it.
Kind of scary, kind of exciting.
 Kind of terribly, terribly intimidating.
Drink from the change and your
glimpse of reality might be brighter.
~ Rachel Wicks

The bliss of ignorance sustains me
like water to my thirst .
don't tell me spring it on me
let me jump and not look down
it will effect the end result in
seeing where you're  going.
Be silent .. Let me live blinded by utter
un expectancy.  So I may not plan, plot,
scheme out a way to trick destiny.
But embrace it in delightful shock .
~ Rachel Wicks

Really aren't all journals books on a persons philosophies.
It's their daily thoughts on a subject, their viewpoints on the world.
But, these thoughts are without a nickname, a label, a means of
identification.  So I begin on my philosophical quest with a dive
right into the heart of a philosopher with the question, Why ?
~ Rachel Wicks

Nothing quite as daunting or
intimidating
as the blank page
A Flamingo and God
A TV and God
The Creation
The Big Bang
The Existence
Before it all,  Darkness
and in the darkness
one bright, white, lined piece of
Notebook Paper

BROKEN ISLAND

I am walking on the edge
of a broken island
I am peering in a glass case
of peace and hope
and love
Something nice to look in on
and I am circling,
circling the dawn

~ Rachel Wicks

The smoke rings of my mind
down the foggy ruins of time
far past the frozen leaves
the haunted frightened trees
out to the windy beach
far from the twisted reach
of crazy sorrow.
Yes, the dance beneath
the diamond sky
with one hand waving free
silhouetted by the sea
circled by the circus sands
with all memory and
fate drivers
deep beneath the waves
let us stand .
~ Rachel Wicks

What kind of thoughts do you think flash before your eyes when you're dying ?
Are they good things or bad things ?   Or does it even matter ?   Are they all
good things once you know they are now unattainable.
~ Rachel Wicks

My eyes can create an image
behind a wall of rules.
There is nothing you can do about it,
You will fall under some label.
In this there is nothing new under the sun ..
Mentality of a world we live in.

~ Rachel Wicks

Anarchy Rules
      Is quite the contradiction
is anarchy really a form of
      government when in reality
    its formless, its total chaos.
But in this world even total
chaos comes in a form, Non
        conformist fits into a
      category  no matter how
    you try .
 ~  R.W.

Empiricism ..  is the belief we can only be sure of something
once we've tested it .. experienced it so to speak .
So much I want to absorb, know and experience .. ~  R.W.

The why to your how

I am why, you are how
 I ask the reasons
 You ask the rules
 I want the feeling
You want the formula for the feeling
unexpected vs. perfect
It's gone beyond Tomato Tamato
It's crossed into the realm of interesting.
  ~ R.W.

Here I am flirting with the idea of  being
awakened from this dream.
It's all for the sake of wondering .....
This dream we call life .....
 ~ R.W.

"I lie awake in the dark,
I can see my whole life
 Even when we weren't alive"

When the lights go out and there's no noise
for distraction.  I think about the few years of my life.
I think about  why I'm here.  I think about the tragedy's  and
triumph's  I've already had.  It's never so clear, all these things
we have, all these things we do.  It's really quite sad.
The one thing we need is so few.
 ~ R.W.

Musing the eyes ... Rachel Wicks

There is no better give away than the eyes.
Nothing shows love, hate, guilt, disgust, joy
better than the eyes.  If something
isn't easy on the eyes most likely they
won't bother with it.  The human minds desire
to comprehend is strong, yet it's tendency
for laziness and going for convenience often
overthrows the urge for knowledge.
Possibly the reason so many people
when they fall deeply in love,
talk about how beautiful their eyes are.
The reason why this comment is usually
the most flattering is because the eyes
reflect  the soul.  That speaks to
the person , as if that person who likes
their eyes,  likes their soul.
 Therefore liking the real them.
Which is hard to find someone who likes
 you for who you are.
The eyes have to be the most universal body part.
 It's the closest physical attributes
have come to crossing over to spiritual attributes.

I dwell on this one aspect
until I can't see the actual
defining points of your face.
Where I've looked for so long.
I can see no more soul than skin
 and  skin than soul ..
it's all meshing ..
As the beginnings of a baby.
One glance around the room ..
I see you're young .. one closed
blinking,  flickering moment ..
I see me.
 ~  Rachel Wicks

Eyes never matching the images they meet.
We all see what we want to see and hear
only  reflections of our own thoughts.
The crow is in your head. The crow is in your head.
Nothing is ever there, unless you perceive it to be.
~ R.W.
