Then the party just stops
and folds up like a lit cigarette
Framing the face with the smoke
that fades next to you ...
Rachel Wicks

THE GIRL
The one and only
she's everyone's one and only
and comes in by the dozen
She shines among those I don't like
and don't wish to like, I don't think.
She's so pretty, so glamorous
with such little ease and effort.
How does she stay so pretty ?
Stay soooo pretty?
She's silent yet manages not shy,
She's loud, but somehow,
never obnoxious or stupid.
She tries new things never looking awkward.
She's your one and only.
The one you like so much,
too much, always.
The one to wonder upon, the one
who makes you feel wonderful.
What do I think?
The gaping hole in my mouth
is just that
don't know..
Any words except upon those
But I will never be that girl.
R.W.

Cody's words to Rachel ....
"You are rare,
Often imitated,
Never duplicated"
Thoughtful Spirit --
Because we know this plus this equals that
we will never truly live in the present ... ~ R.W.

Taken from Rachel's journal,
she had many references pondering her short life here on earth :
Why would you want to ponder your own demise, good point.
So good, I could not come up with an answer until now.
It is not so much the pondering of your own demise but,
the contemplation of death in itself. When you embrace death,
not cling to but, embrace it and accept it.
It is then you will know true beauty of life and
appreciate it for all that it is worth.

Rachel musing
..
"are the
unanswerable questions the most appealing
because just as the journey is more
interesting than the destination.
Life is embraced more widely than death.
Creating is loved more often than completion"

The most beautiful thing we can
experience is the mysterious.
It is the source of all true art and all science.
He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no
longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe,
is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.. ~

"Life is a flame, I can not define"

Too
often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
